Gomoku: Five Stones in a Row is a strategic board game for a pair of participants. On a square grid measuring 19×19 (in the classic version) or 15×15 (in the contemporary sports variant), players take turns placing stones of two distinct hues. The victor is the one who first forms an unbroken line of five stones of their color, whether it be vertically, horizontally, or diagonally. Numerous variations exist, each differing in specific aspects of the regulations. This game is thought to have originated in China over two millennia ago. Presently, it is recognized globally; competitive events are organized based on it.
